In 2009, John and Katie Vitale, former owners of Gino’s Restaurant in St. Louis, were looking for the perfect place to open a family operated pizzeria. After falling in love with Hillsboro, they opened Gianni's Pizza & Italian Ristorante.
After two months spent preparing the building, John and Katie opened Gianni's Pizza & Italian Ristorante with their children Vince, Rose, and Gianluca. They expanded their brand to Litchfield after four successful years in Hillsboro.

Above all else, the Vitales value family and take great pride in serving the families of southern Illinois and the surrounding areas.
